Delhi Metro – The Lifeline

Delhi Metro – The Lifeline

What could a simple ride of Delhi Metro mean to somebody? A convenient way of reaching your destination safe and sound? Well possibly yes, but is this all what a Metro ride means to you? Its way more than you think because we don’t notice everything we see around. Here, let me give you some reasons which might actually make you think why it is called the ‘lifeline’ of Delhi and I am sure there’s at least one point with which you can relate yourself to.

  1. It’s about having an exam tomorrow morning and knowing about it at midnight. So what are you going to do? Well, you can always do a quick revision in the metro.

  2. It’s about teaching an elderly how to use their latest gadgets. After all learning has no age, no bars. And everybody is excited for their first time.

  3. It’s about the Ladies Coach where every man wants to go and those aunties gossiping over the vegetable prices and whom they saw their neighbour’s daughter with. And everybody else busy with their phones.
  4. It’s about sitting on the floor with your gang and enjoying it like a picnic spot. Also completing your homework copying from that one notebook.
  5. It’s about love at first sight where you may just follow the person till his last station forgetting about where you were heading to.

  6. It’s about the Rajiv Chock Metro Station afterall we all have our own hangout places in CP. Never mind the crowd over there though.

  7. It’s about that little child who would energise the entire cabin with her laughter and those cute little things she tries to do with the pole.
  8. It’s about meeting old friends whom you might not have seen in ages or have no contact with. Well it’s time to update your contacts.
  9. It’s about that ‘For Ladies Only’ seat over which almost every man is afraid of sitting. Women power (sic).

  10. It’s about that Shah Rukh Khan pose we make while checking in. Even if for once a day, we all get the feeling of being an actor.

  11. It’s about bunking the class and sitting at the metro station for hours. Also that’s completely fine as long as you have friends to have fun with.

  12. It’s about clicking selfies and making Snapchat stories and updating your Instagram account and putting a status on Facebook about something really funny that just happened also you can always tweet sweetheart. Time to show your photographic side.
  13. It’s about ideas and inspiration which we often receive while sitting in the metro and reminding ourselves of that creative side of ours. And those stories, afterall every ride becomes a story worth telling.

  14. It’s about strangers turning friends. How many times has it happened to you that you talk to a stranger in the metro and end up being friends with them?
  15. It’s about all ears, those talks you don’t want to hear. But God, how can you shut your ears when the pass valli aunty has just started about her cookery classes.
  16. It’s all about feeling at home, getting all the sleep we missed to catch the metro on time. Relaxation mode is on.

  17. It’s about that being yourself time when you can think about anything to everything. That alone time which often works as a remedy to bring yourself together.images (7)
  18. It’s about having that one Metro Wala Friend with whom we share our ride till home. Also they are the one whom we get all the gossip from about different sections in school and departments in offices.

  19. It’s about sharing a smile, cheering somebody up when they are having a rough day. You know a smile can make wonders. (:

  20. Its about dancing in an empty metro. We all have our share of happiness.images (8)
